How to Sleep Well at Night

Figuring out how to sleep well at night is the key to feeling refreshed in the mornings. The quality of sleep you're getting is more important than the quantity. If you want to instantly fall asleep each night and wake up energized and ready for the day, you need to find out what may be affecting the quality of your sleep.

Sleep is a mysterious creature. Unattainable to some yet absolute bliss to those who are lucky enough to find its warm embrace each night.

How to sleep well at night under the moon
And if tonight my soul may find
her peace in sleep,
and sink in good oblivion,
and in the morning wake like a new-opened flower
then I have been dipped again in God, and new-created.

~D.H. Lawrence

The amount of time someone needs to sleep each night to be able to perform well the next day varies from person to person. Some people happen to function quite well on 4 hours sleep and others can't get out of bed without 10 + hours of sleep.

For you to be able to figure out what your specific sleep needs are, you're going to need to experiment. But first you need to figure out how to achieve QUALITY sleep.

Whether someone is able to function well on 4 hours of sleep or 8 or more hours, it's not the length of the sleep but the quality of the sleep that affects their performance the next day. Therefore, you need to figure out how to get quality sleep before finding your optimal length of sleep.

There are many factors to take into consideration when trying to work out your own personal sleep equation. Everything from what's on your mind before bed, to your diet to your exercise schedule (or lack of one); the amount of sunlight you get, how comfy your bed is and what you do previous to going to bed also play important roles in how to sleep well at night. These, and many more factors, determine how well and restful or how 'quality' your sleep will be.

Don't stay up all night thinking about how to sleep well at night.

After finding your own personal sleep equation, you will find that your quality of sleep has increased and as a result, you will have more energy, be more productive, mentally sharp and emotionally balanced throughout the day.

This can have a great impact on not only you, the once tired sleeper, but on the people around you. Life just gets better when you get a good night's sleep!
